When an evening Netflix session turns into a five-hour binge, it’s highly likely you’ll have dark circles staring back at you in the mirror the next morning. When this unfortunate reality occurs, chances are your regular concealer won’t be up to the task of covering the purple blotches under your eyes.
That’s why we’ve taken on the challenge to help find you the best of the best under-eye concealers. We chatted to our best friends, scoured the Internet, talked to Beauty Crew members and rummaged through our own beauty cupboards to put together a list of the eight best full-coverage concealers, guaranteed to cover your dark circles.
NYX Professional Makeup Dark Circle Concealer
As the skin around the eye area tends to run on the drier side, many full-coverage concealers can settle into fine lines and accentuate them. That’s why this uber-affordable option is my personal fave. Its creamy formula is enriched with coconut oil to nourish the eye area while it conceals – it feels a dream as you smooth it on.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
It’s a classic for a reason. This lightweight concealer instantly covers dark circles, is crease-proof and lasts, no matter what’s thrown at it. Reddit user gotta_mila echoed this sentiment: “I’ve tried several concealers and it’s the first one that’s completely covered my under-eye circles, didn’t crease and covered my dark spots. There’s no going back now!”
Maybelline New York Fit Me! Concealer
Sometimes you simply can’t go past a budget-friendly buy! “Maybelline Fit Me! is my ride or die concealer. It’s affordable and I’ve managed to find the perfect shade that’s a touch lighter than my foundation (so it works to brighten the area), while still being thick enough to provide decent coverage,” says marie claire’s Beauty Writer, Jordyn Christensen.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer
The reason why dark circles are so notoriously hard to cover is because many concealers aren’t able to counteract the purple tones that appear. One way to combat the issue is to have a concealer with salmon or pink tones – this is where IT Cosmetics’ full-coverage formula comes in. According to Reddit user Aerochiquita “it’s the only solution to my dark circles I’ve found. It takes some practice to set it correctly, but it’s definitely worth it!”
Clinique All About Eyes Concealer
This long-wearing and hydrating formula made the list when our Editor Carli’s friend sang its praises and insisted she try it out. But what’s so good about it? According to Carli’s friend, it covers absolutely everything, doesn’t crease and leaves the under-eye area hydrated and smooth. Sounds good to us.
Yves Saint Laurent Beauté All Hours Concealer
The French beauty house’s recently launched concealer is one a plethora of makeup-savvy Beauty Crew members urge you to rush out and buy, stat. The thick liquid concealer will cover anything in its path while still blending out easily, leaving a smooth and flawless finish in its wake.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Concealer
If you’re on a budget, but don’t want to skimp on quality, Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish Concealer is one of your best bets. Reddit user flyaninnocentlife claims it’s the only concealer she’s found that effectively covers her dark under-eye circles. “I’ve tried everything! Every dark circle concealer, foundations, creams etc. Everything that seemed to work for others made no difference to me. I even started asking tattoo artists if they could cover them (no they can’t as it turns out). On a whim, I bought this concealer and it’s simply amazing.”
Now that you’ve got the right product for the job, follow our guide on the proper way to use your conceal to hide those dark circles.
