One glimpse at Hailey Bieber's life and you may think she was just blessed with truly excellent fortune.
With an impressively toned figure, a face that gleams like the sun and a thriving modelling career (and YouTube channel, may we add) under her belt, it's easy to assume that everything just comes easy to her.
But though there's no doubt Bieber was given a good start in the gene pool game, she still works hard as hell to keep herself looking and feeling her absolute best, top to toe. Let her 15-step skin care routine be the proof of that.
So what's her strategy? We made it our mission to find out. Here's everything Bieber does to stay in shape...
Diet: 3 balanced meals
"On a regular day, breakfast is usually eggs or oatmeal, some type of healthy protein, or a smoothie. Lunch is usually salad, fish, grilled veggies, or maybe a sandwich. I don't really eat a lot of gluten so I'm trying to be particular. I love a good kale Caesar salad [but with] no croutons. That's usually one thing I leave out. Dinner is usually kind of along the same lines [as lunch]; some sort of vegetable, or pasta, like a gluten-free pasta," she revealed to ELLE.
“I used to be a ballet dancer so Pilates for me gets my body personally in the best shape because it’s very elongating,” she explained on the Women's Health Going For Goal podcast. “A lot of the movements in Pilates are very similar to dance.
"Over the past 2 and 1/2 months I completely cut meat (other than fish) out of my daily eating and have been sticking to more vegetarian/vegan dishes," Bieber shared in a recent Instagram Story. "I have never felt better! Feel so clear and energetic. Just sharing for anyone who may be thinking about cutting out meat!"
Exercise: Hot pilates/yoga
Regular pilates isn't always her go-to; sometimes Bieber prefers a particularly steamy sweat sesh instead. “I’ve been doing hot Pilates for years now," she shared with Vogue Australia. "I find that when you do any hot class your muscles are more pliable and you’re stretched out easier. You come out dripping in sweat and my face is like a tomato and it’s good for your skin! I love it! I’m obsessed and it’s addictive."
Diet: Occasional indulgences
While Bieber is committed to eating as healthily as possible most of the time, she doesn't deprive herself when the cravings come calling. "I try to be very strict about eating just for my skin and my body [but on a recent trip], I was eating whatever I wanted when I was there because it was just like you've got to take advantage of those moments," she told ELLE. "A cheat day for me, the first thing that I crave, I'll eat. That's my rule. So if I wake up and I want pancakes, I'm gonna eat pancakes. If I want a cheeseburger for lunch or for dinner, I'm gonna eat it. If I want fries, I'm gonna eat the fries."
Exercise: Constant variation
On top of pilates for elongating and toning her muscles, Bieber also likes to mix things up in the gym, swapping between a few heartrate-raising favourites: "I really like boxing for cardio. And I'll do a couple of sessions a week in the gym, weight training and cardio," she explained via Women's Health. She knows it's as much a mental game as it is a physical one, too: "Exercise keeps my mind and my body really healthy." We love to hear it.
Diet: Cooking at home
Bieber prefers to know exactly what's going into her meals wherever possible, choosing to cook at home when she can rather than order or eat out. "We grill a lot of stuff: steak, veggies, corn on the cob, right on the grill," she told Vogue Australia re: her go-tos. "Honestly, the food tastes different at home because it’s so fresh."
Diet: Limited sugar, lots of water
"Sometimes [I'll do dessert]. I really like the Magnum bars, that's a great one. [But I generally try to avoid] sugar. Sugar's a big one for everyone, I think," she told ELLE, adding that one thing she definitely doesn't avoid is water. "I think drinking a lot of water helps. I try to drink, like, a couple bottles throughout the day. I don't know how many glasses that would amount to, but it's important." Preach, Bieber, preach.
