In case you missed it, the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special debuted on Disney+ on Tuesday March 24th, and many of the Hannah Montana cast, including the show's star Miley Cyrus reminisced their favourite on and off screen moments.

Cyrus was so committed to reviving the series that she started telling people there was going to be a special before anything had been organised.

“I learned this terrible habit — but I actually think it was good advice — from Dolly [Parton],” she told Variety. “She told me that if you want something to happen, promote it before it exists. Then no one can say no. So I just started promoting a ‘Hannah Montana’ 20th-anniversary special that literally did not exist.”

“I didn’t want to do this modern approach to Hannah,” she went on to say. “I wanted to keep it preserved. But also, now Hannah wears Gucci. She’s elevated. She’s gotta look a little less Galleria.”

“I used to think of Hannah as something separate from myself,” Cyrus explained. “This special is my reclaiming of merging Hannah and Miley together.”

So, rather than don a wig for the special, Cyrus lightened her hair and adopted a Hannah Montana inspired fringe.

Her makeup artist, Janice Daoud, also took cues from the Disney character's signature pop star glam for Cyrus' own on-screen and red carpet appearances surrounding the 20th anniversary.

"I applied Maybelline Lifter Plump & Glow Foundation 120 ($20.99 from Chemist Warehouse) for a radiant base and brightened the under-eyes with Maybelline Lifter Concealer 20 ($14.99 from Chemist Warehouse)," Daoud explained via Instagram. "Soft dimension came from Maybelline The City Mini® Eyeshadow Palette Matte About Town"

"I lined the base of the lash line with Maybelline Sculpting Stix Eyeliner 014 Mocha Contour ($11.99 from Chemist Warehouse) to elongate her eyes, then topped it off with Maybelline Shadow Drip Eyeshadow ($9.99 from Priceline) in 45 Bronze Drip for a soft, smudged shimmer," she shared. "I added 05 Silver Drip to the center of the lid for a little sparkle, [and] brows were defined with Maybelline Build A Brow 255 Soft Brown ($17.39 from Chemist Warehouse)."

"Lashes were lengthened with Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara Brown ($16.69 from Chemist Warehouse)," Daoud went on to say.

"For cheeks, I used Maybelline Cloudtopia Blush 05 Coral Illusion ($14.99 from Chemist Warehousefor a fresh flush," she said. "Lips were softly lined with Maybelline Lifter Hydrating Longwear Lip Liner Upstate and finished with Maybelline Serum Lipstick 101 Maybe Upstate ($13.69 from Chemist Warehouse) — the look was an effortless nod to Hannah’s spirit through Miley’s style."
