The French manicure emerged from the ashes of the ‘00s to be reborn as a modern manicure trend.

But for the life of us we still can’t steady our hands long enough to master the DIY version at home.

The solution?

Well, according to the TikTok beauty community, there’s a very simple-to-use (not to mention affordable) product to help the dexterously-challenged among us.

Say hello to our little friend, the jelly stamper.

It’s an ingenious invention that allows you to literally stamp nail polish onto your nail tips and achieve the kind of crisp line you’d usually have to head to the nail salon for.

How does it work?

The process is very quick and painless. Simply coat the jelly stamper in an opaque layer of nail polish and then firmly press the tip of your nail into the gelatinous mass.

Promptly remove your nail from the jelly stamper cushion and you’ll see the results of your labour.

Things to know

Dua Lipa and Adele’s nail artist Michelle Humphrey had a few words of advice for those looking to try a jelly stamper at home.

Humphrey encouraged the use of the nifty tool to aid novice manicurists and self-professed DIY nail gurus, but she doesn’t recommend using the tool if you have shorter nails.

Why? Well, according to the celebrity nail artist, there’s a greater risk of “getting product on the skin”.

“If you’re using nail polish that’s going to be great because you can clean it up,” explained Humphrey.

“However, if you’re using gel I really would advise against doing the short length nail because you really want to avoid getting that product on the skin at all costs… to prevent any allergies or issues down the line.”

How to clean the stamper

If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably been left confused about how to clean your jelly stamper after you’ve used it.

Especially for those of us who’re addicted to using gel polish, the stuff can be very difficult to remove without using chemicals such as acetone.

But according to one TikTok user @nailartbysig, all you need is a run-of-the-mill lint roller:

Feening for a jelly stamper to call your own? We recommend:

2 Sets of Nail Manicure Stampers ($15.33 at Kogan); 2 Sets Jelly French Nail Art Stamper ($12.75 at Amazon Australia); and Crystal Clear Stamper & Scraper ($16.95 at Picture Polish).

The TikTok beauty community is home to a wealth of helpful product recommendations. The TikTok heated rollers trend is the key to big, bouncy, voluminous curls.
