Kim K just shared her all-time favourite lippie from the ‘90s

We’re feeling nostalgic

Fact: Kim Kardashian has one of the most recognisable makeup looks in the world. Those sculpted cheeks. The glowing highlighter. The perfectly symmetrical brows. She’s had her signature look down pat for quite some time, and with the help of her makeup squad (namely Mario Dedivanovic), she arguably put contouring on the beauty map. But as it turns out, a sculpted complexion wasn’t always her go-to makeup look.

If you do a little investigating/stalking, you’ll find out that Kim definitely loved makeup from a young age – and it looks like a certain brownish shade of lipstick started it all off.

A few months ago, she posted a throwback shot of herself in high school, captioning the Instagram pic: “This was my go to lipstick. It’s gotta make a comeback.”

Yep – SO ‘90s!

However, Kim didn’t reveal exactly what lipstick she was talking about (how dare she!), so naturally, we were plagued with curiosity. But as of today, we finally know the answer.

In a post on her Instagram story, the beauty mogul shared a snap of THE lippie, captioning the pic: “My fave @revlon colour in the 90s! Toast of New York!”

This creamy retro lipstick is *exactly* the colour you think of when you picture the ‘90s (in fact, it’s almost identical to the iconic lip colour Jennifer Aniston made famous on Friends), and it looks like the very shade Kim’s wearing in the throwback photo.

Come to think of it, Kim might have spoken about her love for this particular lippie in the past. In a blog post last year, she revealed that her and her childhood bestie Nicole Richie (you may have heard of her) once stole Revlon lipsticks from a drugstore.

She wrote, “While Nicole Richie and I were around 11, we went into a drugstore in Malibu and took lipstick. We thought we were so badass!” She added, “I can’t remember the name of the color, but it was a brown shade from Revlon. I wasn’t much of a partier growing up, so this was about as rebellious as I got.”

Coincidence? Perhaps. But we’re thinking it just might be the ol’ Revlon Super Lustrous Cream Lipstick in Toast of New York she’s talking about here, too! Looks like she was one loyal fan.

And seeing as there have been a whole wave of ‘90s hair trends popping up lately (just ask Kendall Jenner), we reckon it’s only a matter of time before this shade is back in high rotation.

While you can’t get the Toast of New York shade in Australia anymore (*sad face*), Revlon Super Lustrous Cream Lipstick in Mink is a pretty close match. If you’re looking a slightly deeper shade, Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Brown should also do the trick.
