The product

It may sound counterintuitive, but oily skin needs to be moisturised regularly. The difficult task is finding the right formula that’s going to hydrate without leaving your skin greasy. If you also have sensitive skin that’s prone to irritation and redness, finding a moisturiser just got even harder.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light has a light, fluid texture that won’t clog oily or combination skin types, but still has all the goodness you need to keep skin moisturised (like glycerin for 24-hour hydration) without any irritants like preservatives, parabens, fragrances, alcohol or colourants. It calms, nourishes and is the perfect lightweight texture for sensitive, oily skin.

Beauty Crew sent La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light, as well as La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser and La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Overnight to a panel of women aged between 25 and 44 who were searching for a moisturiser to care for their sensitive, oily skin.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light:

How lightweight yet ultra-hydrating the formula is: Despite being a light, fluid consistency, our Review Crew® team were impressed with how moisturising this product was on their skin. It suited their sensitive skin and oil-controlling needs in one.

How quickly the cream absorbs into skin: Plenty of our Review Crew® members commented on how this moisturiser quickly absorbs into the skin and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy.

How it helped reduce redness: A number of our reviewers said that this moisturiser helped reduce signs of redness and irritation in their skin. “Due to my acne scars, I have a few red spots on my face and after using the LaRoche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light moisturiser, I noticed a reduction in redness in my scars and an overall even skin tone,” said one member.

Good to know: Some of our members were disappointed that this moisturiser doesn’t provide any sun protection, as they prefer to use a day cream formulated with SPF. A sunscreen needs to be layered over the top of this product.

“Amazing moisturiser! I love that this comes with a pump as I don’t have to scoop out the product from a jar. This is a lightweight moisturiser and suits my oily skin. I sometimes also mix this with half a pump of foundation and SPF to have an even and natural effect.”
