With both the New York and London fashion weeks behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to the Italian fashion capital, Milan. With a gamut of inspiration that included fierce winged liner looks at Versace, shaggy updos at Giorgio Armani and ‘60s-inspired lashes at Prada, the runways of Milan showed both hair and makeup trends you’ll want to copy in real life, as well as a few looks best admired from afar. Keep scrolling to see our favourite looks from the Milan Fashion Week SS19 shows.
While Gigi Hadid in a wedding gown followed by a trail of butterflies was undoubtedly the highlight of the Moschino show, we also fell in love with the makeup. The eye look was kept natural, which allowed Gigi’s (and all the other models’) bronzed skin and dark brown lips to do all the talking.
While the hair look at Versace echoed that of the Missoni show (trend alert!), the eye look couldn’t have been more different. We’re loving the metallic blue-green liner that perfectly complemented the striking Versace clothes.
There’s nothing we love more than seeing a runway beauty look that we can recreate (fairly) easily in the comfort of our own homes. That’s why we fell in love with this high bun at Fendi that let each models’ baby hairs hang loose.
Twiggy was a fashion and beauty icon from the ‘60s, and if the Prada show is anything to go by, her signature lash look is making a comeback. Hair was styled into cute pixie styles (also very Twiggy), and while base and lip makeup were kept minimal, each model sported a dramatic set of false lashes on both their top and bottom lash lines for maximum impact.
