Dermalogica Precleanse Balm

I like to make sure my face is perfectly clean before applying serum and moisturiser in the evening. This is a thick balm that is rubbed over your face when it is dry, when water is added it softens and turns milky, and it's easily rinsed away. I don't wear make-up on a daily basis but use this every night and follow it with a gentle cleanser. It leaves my skin clean and fresh, my skin is sensitive but it has'nt caused me any irritation or dried it out.

I received this pre cleanse balm as a sample with an online order, and it came with a cute little silicon scrub tool which I love. I don't generally like oil based products, and I wouldn't use this product as an every day cleanser, but I have been using this to remove heavy makeup and I love it for this purpose. I apply the balm to my makeup, let it melt into my skin for a minute or so, and then start working the product around with the silicon mitt. It seems to break down long wearing makeup with ease. I then cleanse my face normally and my skin feels so clean and helps to avoid the irritation of makeup wipes/overscrubbing etc. I don't wear makeup often, so the product will last me a long time, but I will definitely repurchase.

I have used this product for about one week now and am surprised how much cleaner my skin feels. I use it with the mitt before I shower on my t-zone which has a tendency to be slightly oily by the end of the day. I feel that my makeup is completely removed from my pores and it is not harsh on my sensitive skin at all. I am interested in seeing whether this will result in less clogged pores but only time will tell

I was lucky to receive a generous, travel size tube of this Dermalogica Precleanse Balm and it's a luxurious and effective way to remove stubborn and heavy makeup. I am a big fan of the original Precleanse cleansing oil, which is just as effective as this but is a lot more runny and lightweight in texture. The balm melts onto skin and instantly dissolves makeup and you can use it on an around the eye area without any irritation. It is pretty concentrated and a small amount goes a long way, so although it seems pretty expensive I'm sure a full sized tube will last a while. You are supposed to apply the balm to dry skin with dry hands and really massage it in to loosen up and help remove makeup, grime etc. You then add water to create a milky emulsion which helps to rinse and remove the balm. It rinses really well and leaves no greasy residue whatsoever. It just leaves your skin super soft and supple, and then you can use your regular cleanser as the next step. It has a pleasant, refreshing scent that doesn't irritate my skin or eyes. Precleanse is definitely one of the most effective cleansing balms I have tried and you don't need to use a lot to get a deep clean. It is pretty expensive considering the full size tube is not huge, but it does do a great job removing heavy makeup without any excess rubbing. It is quite gentle and leaves the skin feeling fresh and smooth, therefore I will most likely purchase the full size tube.

I was eager to try this, mainly due to my love affair with the Precleanse Oil. While I like this product, I definitely prefer the original version. The balm is effective - destroys makeup and rinses clean with minimal effort, leaving the skin feeling clean and nourished. My only issue is that it seems to run out quite quickly whereas the oil lasts for ages. A great product, probably just a matter of personal preference between balm and oil cleansing.

So do yourself a favour and start today with a twice daily routine with the right products for your skin type and wait for the results and compliments to start flooding in. Double cleansing is the first and most vital step in any good routine. Simply, the first cleanse will remove makeup, dirt, oil and pollution and the second cleanse will then penetrate deeply and more thoroughly into skin and you will notice the difference after double cleansing because your skin will be brighter, cleanser, more radiant and excess oil and dead skin will disappear. For me double cleansing with an oil or micellar water followed by a cream or acid cleanser that will gently exfoliate at the same time really works and one brand that definitely works is Dermalogica and this pre cleanse balm. I’ve used the original pre cleanse oil and loved it so much. It removes every scrap of my makeup, oil and dirt so my second cream cleanser penetrates so much deeper and effectively. Plus the scent of the lavender and other essential oils were lovely especially at night to relax me. When Dermalogica came out with this balm version, I knew I needed it in my life. It’s such a beautiful thick and creamy texture, great in the freezing cold drying winter weather and smells just as divine. I massaged a small amount of product over my damp skin then removed with the genius cloth remover provided and did my second cleanse. After applying serum and moisturiser I noticed how much smoother, softer and radiant my skin already looked. My makeup was completely and perfectly removed and I’m sure my serum and moisturiser penetrated so much more deeper into my skin straight away. Using it for a few weeks now day and night and I know I’m not imagining how much better and clearer and glowing my skin is, I get so many compliments that I drink up quite happily. It’s so quick and easy to use, makeup dirt and oil do not stand a chance against it, it’s so affordable for the quality, quantity and results it gives and I’ve not even used half the tube yet because so little is needed, even using it twice a day every day. Dermalogica is affordable, Australian, beautiful products and packaging and results and are always there to look after my skin and beauty needs. Double cleansing is such a quick, easy and effective way to give you beautiful, healthy skin. As a fan of Dermalogica's Precleanse Oil I was very excited to try out their Precleanse Balm. When I found out that the cleansing mitt comes with every balm I was sold. Some might say that any precleanse product is not worth it, but in my opinion a well cleansed skin is happier and looks much better. The two minutes it takes to precleanse might be the most important minutes in our night skincare routine. We get rid of sebum build-up, all the impurities accumulated throughtout the day are gone. It also gives us an excuse to massage our face a little, and in this case we are given a tool to do so as well. Dermalogica's Precleanse Balm comes in a standard white plastic tube with a grey cap. The packaging is fine until we want to get the very last bit of the product, then it gets a bit tricky, but it is enough to cut the tube open to scrape off the last bits. The formula is pretty thick, yet buttery, it reminds me more of lard, but thanks to its subtle relaxing scent is very pleasant to use. The balm upon the contact with the face ( or fingers) melts into oil and is very easy to massage into the skin. Precleanse Balm is very effective at removing make up, eye make up too. It doesn't irritate my eyes, and I can easily use it on my lids and to get rid of the mascara too. When mixed with waterm it turnes into some lotion/ milk and is effortlessly removed from the face. Thanks to the enclosed mitt, we are sure to remove all the make up, even from deep inside of the pores. The mitt promotes the circulation of blood and in that way the skin absorbs the precious ingredients faster.The skin feels clean and nourished, it doesn't feel tight or dry at all. A really lovely product to start your night routine.
