Did someone say versatile?

In case you haven’t noticed, the face-framing updos of the nineties and noughties are back baby.
Icons like TLC and S Club 7 may have led the way back in the day with this statement-making style but modern-day celebs have taken the trend and ran with it.
Megan Thee Stallion wore a formal version of the look to the Grammys but she’s not the only celeb toting face-framing tendrils; no, everyone from Bella Hadid to Lizzo, and even Dua Lipa have all put their own spin on the versatile look.
This look is for *literally* everyone.
Here are some tendril-centric hair styles to get you inspired:

Zoë Kravitz has been getting real experimental with her hair styling decisions on The Batman press circuit. After hitting the red carpet for the film’s premiere with an Audrey Hepburn-inspired fringe, the actress stole the show at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a micro-braided tendril updo. The relaxed mini plaits definitely took centre stage, while Kravitz’s dark mane was smoothed back into a chic bun. Can we get a little commotion for the plaits?

Kristen Stewart has been walking a LOT of red carpets lately, and providing us with a few stellar beauty moments as a result. It was only earlier this month she reminded us just how versatile a high ponytail and a couple of ‘90s-era ‘slut strands’ can be, but apparently the actress is still digging into the archives of nostalgic beauty looks. Stewart walked the 33rd Annual Producers Guild Awards red carpet with a romantic bridal hair moment hailing from the same decade. From the emphasis on natural texture to the lackadaisical approach to loosely assembling her tendril updo, we’re very much in love with this throwback piece of hair history.
