Zoe Foster Blake Says You’ve Been Doing Your Concealer Wrong

The beauty guru is here to sort us all out

If you've been applying your under-eye concealer in an inverted triangle shape beneath your eyes, you might want to tune in. According to legendary Australian beauty guru, Zoë Foster Blake, this old school method may actually make any under-eye issues appear worse, rather than better.

While filming a video to demo her new Go-To Skin Care Fancy Face Nourishing Oil Cleanser, the Go-To Skin Care founder revealed you’ll get a better result if you just use a small amount of concealer beneath the inner corners of the eyes only.

Zoë Foster Blake demonstrates where to place under-eye concealer.

“I recommend not doing this thing that a lot of videos might tell you to do,” she says, gesturing in a triangle shape underneath her eyes.

“Especially as you get older. Just [apply the concealer] in the corner. You’re trying to highlight the dark areas not add extra makeup where you don’t need it,” Zoë explains.

Zoë’s go-to concealer is It Cosmetics Bye-Bye Undereye which she says is “really brightening, dewy and it doesn’t cake or crepe.”

“I can’t understand why anyone would use a concealer that makes them look more tired and old under there,” says Zoë.

For some other under-eye concealer options, we also love Trinny London BFF Eye Serum/Concealer which is a clever multi-tasker that combines the skin-loving benefits of a serum with powerful yet light coverage. Or, for a convenient on-the-go option with a built-in sponge, try Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eye Eraser Concealer.
