The most show-stopping beauty looks from the 2019 Met Gala
We can’t look away

The Met Gala is arguably the biggest and best night for fashion and beauty, so you’re going to bet all eyes are on the steps of New York’s iconic museum, waiting to see what our favourite celebs have in store for us.
The theme for this year’s event was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” – and as with any themed occasion, the beauty looks were every bit fun, flamboyant and delightfully over-the-top. From Lady Gaga’s insane gold lashes to Kris Jenner’s blonde bob and Ashley Graham’s emerald green eyeliner, here are some of the best beauty moments from the 2019 Met Gala, so far.
Fact: The girl knows how to make an entrance. Lady Gaga seriously killed it on EVERY front (guys, she literally did a strip tease on the red carpet), and her beauty look was no exception – it was extra in every sense of the word. The actress and singer wore dramatic gold lashes and a pop of bright fuchsia lipstick for a fun and flamboyant look. She also wore her hair in a platinum blonde bob, with a blunt fringe and tiny bows braided at the crown. It’s fun, quirky and oh so Gaga.
Is that Kris Jenner?! The momager looked almost unrecognisable wearing her hair in a sleek asymmetrical blonde bob – and it looked GOOD. We think it frames her face perfectly and enhance her jawline. While we have the sneaky suspicion that this may be the work of a wig, we kinda want Kris to make this a thing IRL. The Kardashian-Jenner also went all out with her makeup look, opting for striking electric blue smoky eye with inner corner highlights to shine the spotlight on her brown eyes.
See, green eye makeup *can* look good! Take note brown-eyed gals - Ashley Graham proved green eyeliner is the new makeup trend you need to try, wearing a mossy hue around her entire upper and lower lash line. And her eyes are poppin’ on a whole other level! She teamed the eye look with glowing and luminous skin, and a sleek ponytail adorned with kitsch hair clips courtesy of Gucci.
The Irish-born actress looked stunning, with sparkling gold eye makeup and a subtle winged eyeshadow look. Her complexion was kept fresh and natural-looking, which further worked to enhance her eye makeup and put her blue eyes on full display.
We. Are. Speechless. Priyanka Chopra’s beauty look is the stuff of *actual* fairytales. The actress arrived with a halo of stunning voluminous curls, silver-frosted brows and lashes, and a deep raspberry shade on her eyes and lips. Topped off with a silver cage crown, her beauty look was bold, theatrical and goddamn brilliant.
We did NOT expect a look like this from Elle Fanning! But man, she nails it! (Pun intended!). The actress rocked up to the red carpet looking cooler than we’ll ever be, wearing neon acrylic nails adorned with mini plastic food items – yep, subtle. Her half-up half-down hairstyle, winged liner, blue eyeshadow and bright pink lipstick have us guessing that a ‘60s beauty trend is about to hit. And TBH, we are *so* ready for it!
Hailey looks so darn cute it hurts. She also gave us major ‘60s vibes with her Brigitte Bardot-inspired makeup, and her hair swept up in an immaculate high ponytail adorned with a pretty black velvet bow. And her highlighter – ugh. The model wore the prettiest pink iridescent sheen on her cheekbones and it complemented her outfit *perfectly*. We need to know the name of said highlighter, STAT.
Never one to disappoint, Cardi B made a fierce appearance on the red carpet (and not just because of those intricate feathers and massive ruffled train!). Wearing a gem-encrusted red headpiece, her beauty look was put on full display – and she absolutely owned it. She wore her trademark long lashes and filter-worthy makeup, matching her oxblood lips to her exquisite outfit.
While she usually opts for lengthy extensions on the red carpet, the KKW Beauty founder wore her dark hair in effortless wet-look beachy waves. Like many of her fellow celebs, Kim took inspo from her outfit, wearing a soft rose gold eyeshadow on her lids. She lined her lips with a subtle brown hue, contrasting it with a softer pinky colour on the rest of her pout.
Yes, we were waiting for this and yes we’re into it! Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner matched her hair to her lavender ensemble, stealing the show with a straight violet ‘do. Her makeup look was every bit on-brand, featuring her signature matte skin, contoured cheeks and a plump pout, which was swiped with a pinkish-nude lipstick. Her eyes were lined with black eyeliner, her brows perfected and her lashes screamed drama.
Those Jenner sisters sure don’t do things by halves! Kendall wowed with a beautiful retro-inspired look, wearing her brunette hair styled back in a chic middle-parted bun with adorable kiss curls framing her face. Her makeup look was every bit flawless/glowy/everything you’d ever want, featuring super long eyelashes and a glossy pink lip.
Jennifer Lopez made a strong statement wearing a silver beaded headpiece (anyone else in need of one of these for those bad hair days?) and an intense purple smoky eye, which was blended around her upper lid and underneath her lower lash line. She also wore those signature long lashes to add extra oomph to her already-stunning eye look.
Those lashes though! Similar to Lady Gaga, Gigi Hadid took her lash game to the next level, wearing out-of-this-world lashes for a stunningly arty and eye-catching beauty look. Makeup artist Erin Parsons kept the rest of Gigi's makeup look quite neutral, giving her a glowy complexion, courtesy of Maybelline 24 Hour Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation. She also swept Maybelline's City Bronzer bronzing powder on Gigi's cheekbones and forehead, as well as her lids to subtly contrast the bold white eyelashes. Neat trick!
The Bohemian Rhapsody star looked like a whimsical goddess, swapping her blonde locks for a gorgeous pastel blue hue. The dreamy hair look was courtesy of Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist Jenny Choo, who says “When I saw the sketch of her Prada dress, I envisioned Lucy as a fairy walking through magical fields of delicate and dainty fresh baby spring flowers. So, we decided to put on a rinse over her hair and make it dusty blue to give the hair a fairy bend, complete with a headpiece made of soft pastel flowers.” On the makeup front, she ditched the eyeshadow and liner, and instead wore pops of silver glitter around her eyes, along with simple curled lashes. A glossy pink lip and glowy skin kept her entire making look fresh and pretty.
Talk about a headpiece! Celine Dion arrived at the Met Gala looking stage-ready, with delicate feathers draping down her forehead like bangs. The whole beauty look was amped up with glitzy golden makeup on her lids and brows, while a swipe of nude lipstick provided the perfect contrast. She’s totally Vegas-ready!
Newlywed Sophie Turner wore bold metallic blue eyeshadow on her lids, which was blended out to create a dramatic wing look (no eyeliner needed!). While the rest of her makeup look was kept quite simple, her slick hair wave and silver glitter combo made her look like a total superhero.
Lily Collins took her beauty look to new heights (literally), wearing a breathtaking ‘60s-inspired beehive – and we don’t know about you, but we’re getting MAJOR Priscilla Presley vibes! Pretty white flowers and a thick white headband added to her hair look, while the pastel purple eyeshadow and oversized lashes completed the gorgeous retro feel.
Gemma Chan, what do you use on your skin and where can we get it? The Crazy Rich Asians actress looked utterly jaw-dropping, showing off a metallic silver eye makeup look and a killer headpiece sitting atop some super glossy locks. But it was her perfectly flawless/glowing/clear complexion that truly won our hearts!
Guys, Katy Perry dressed up as an *actual* chandelier and then later changed into a BURGER COSTUME. Oh, Katy! Confused as we are, her beauty look was totally on point, even post-costume change! Ditching her usual pixie cut, the singer sported some new platinum locks, which were styled into a sleek bob. She also wore super long, fluffy lashes and a pop of coral on her lips for a fresh, fun vibe.
We don’t want to make it a competition, but if it was, Lupita totally won. The gold combs! The hair! The glitter! The lips! We die. The actress absolutely shut down the red carpet with this glittery masterpiece, wearing a trio of colours over her pencil-thin brows and lids for a truly camp look. Then there were her glossy liquorice lips – we could go on for ages. BIG fans.
Emily Ratajkowski wore a super dreamy, ultra-glowy makeup look, created using a slew of Lancôme products. And while the butterfly masterpiece is certainly eye-catching (the inspo behind it was none other than Cher!), her long, thick, cascading curly hair behind was the stuff of actual dreams.
Absolutely owning her chocolate brown pixie cut, Bella Hadid looked like a modern-day Audrey Hepburn. She teamed her cute hairstyle with flawless skin, sharp winged eyeliner and a silver eyeshadow look, complete with eye-opening inner corner highlights. Perfection.
Um, Ciara just won biggest and best hair because WOW. Her ultra-voluminous afro is *everything* and was almost a whole look in itself. She accessorised with two jewelled clips at the front, and opted for an intense emerald smoky eye, blended out towards her temples. So much yes.
Zendaya arrived as an actual Disney character and it’s everything. Channelling her inner Cinderella, she wore shimmery pink cheeks, blue eyeshadow, pink lips and a blue headband on her fresh blonde pixie cut. Our inner five-year-old self is *freaking* out.
