This is what Emily Ratajkowski eats every day

You won’t believe what she indulges in for breakfast

As one of the biggest up and coming beauties in Hollywood, Emily Ratajkowksi, otherwise known by her Instagram handle @emrata, has it all: she’s stunning, has gorgeous tousled tresses and an enviable figure. Well-known for her laid-back approach to beauty (although she can also pull off a dramatic makeup look with ease) and her toned, tanned physique, we took note of her top diet and fitness tips for keeping in shape on the run when she revealed them to Elle and Harpers Bazaar in recent interviews. What she likes to eat may surprise you!

On breakfast...
Unexpectedly, Emily’s go-to breakfast food is pastry. “Every day I …get this pastry called kouign-anamm with my black coffee, I always pretend that I don’t know what I’m getting. I’m like, ‘Um, hmm, I guess I'll get … a kouign-amann?’ They're like, "Uh-huh." 

On lunch...
She may treat herself in the morning, but she makes up for her breakfast pastry by being strict with her daytime eating. “Lunch is usually a salad or a sandwich. If I’m on set, I’ll have catering, but I’m well behaved with that stuff. It’s easy to go crazy – they know how to feed you,” she says.

On dinner…
“I never eat at home. Dinner is my time to be social and catch up with people,” Emily says. Her go-to cuisines are either Italian for a good glass of wine, or sushi when a health kick is in order. She also loves uni, which is the Japanese word for sea urchin.

On her food philosophy…
“I really like to eat meat. I crave iron. I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy but also be healthy. I cook a lot, so that really helps; you know how much salt and sugar and all that kind of stuff you are putting in your body,” she explains.

On her biggest indulgence…
“I think it’s good to indulge occasionally. I wouldn’t say I’m the type of girl who craves Doritos but I definitely love a good cupcake sometimes, or a croissant in the morning. I think it is really important to give yourself a break. And also really think about where things are coming from and what kind of ingredients are going into your body.”

On her fitness routine…
“Weekends don’t really exist. I’ll randomly have a Monday off, then work Saturday and Sunday. [On my] days off, I’ll get some time to exercise...I really like to hike. LA is a great place for that. And doing yoga a couple of time a week is a really big part of my regimen,” she explains.
